Grow School: Homegrown Vegetables (Sunday option)
Kickstart spring with inspiration and new knowledge for growing your own nutritious vegetables. This workshop includes both theory and practical experience in an active home garden. It includes a ‘take home’ pack of our favourite vegetable seeds and plants to get you growing.
-Establishing a new vegetable garden
-What vegetables and varieties to plant in the spring months
-How to plant for ongoing harvesting
-Growing from seed
-Looking after your soil
-Pests and diseases
-Dealing with weeds
-Useful garden tools and equipment
Tutoring, resource materials, your own plants & seeds to take home, and a delicious morning tea.
-Clothes & closed shoes suitable for the weather conditions, and that you don’t mind getting a bit of soil on. If it’s wet we may well be heading outside regardless!
-Gardening gloves (if you have your own – we will lend otherwise).
Numbers are strictly limited in this workshop.
Christy is a teacher and gardener and loves to combine these two passions. Christy has a substantial edible food garden as part of Nourish Gardens located in the beautiful Owhanake Bay on Waiheke Island.
