This is a practical hands on workshop, where you will be able to harvest flowers from the gardens and flower farm at Nourish Gardens under the guidance of owner Christy. Rosie Holt, who established florist Rose Tinted Flowers will demonstrate a variety of tips and techniques for arranging flowers, then you will be able to practice what you have learnt. At the end of the workshop you will be able to take home your own beautifully styled arrangement, in your own unique ceramic vase.
Waiheke Island potter Jane Burn has created vases especially for this workshop. Owner of Island Coffee, and the cafe The Annex, multi-talented Jane’s ceramic exhibitions are always a sold out affair, and her works are much treasured.

- Christy’s favourite roses and spring flowers for cutting
- Harvesting and post-harvest tips to keep flowers fresher for longer
- How to design centrepiece arrangements, foam free
- Tips and techniques for creating different styles, with a focus on natural methods

Rosie established renowned Auckland florist shop Rose Tinted Flowers, which also specialises in weddings and events. Rosie’s floral style is drawn from growing up in the countryside where rambling wildflowers were abundant, leading to her wild and romantic florals. Rosie is also passionate about being kind to the earth, and reducing the negative environmental impacts of the flower industry.
Christy: Nourish Gardens
Christy is a teacher and gardener and loves to combine these two passions. Christy owns a flower farm as part of Nourish Gardens located in the beautiful Owhanake Bay on Waiheke Island that specialises in unique sustainably grown flowers
$185 per person. This includes tuition, all flowers and foliage which you will use to create your own arrangements to take home, a custom-made Jane Burn vase, and a delicious morning tea by Waiheke’s own Little Tart Bakery.
