In the class you will be shown the best equipment to use for dip pen calligraphy and then learn the foundation letters of a beautiful Modern calligraphy font. By the end of the lesson you will be able to write your name and we will also make a bespoke greeting card for someone special. The perfect accompaniment to a posy of flowers. Let’s get lettering!

Want to make day of it?
You could also join us for our afternoon ‘Modern Florals’ line drawing workshop on the same day. If both workshops are booked, a catered lunch is also included.
Emma has been doing calligraphy for over 30 years and is passionate about lettering. Using a variety of nibs and inks, paints and paper, she loves bringing language and design together to create bespoke stationery. In a fast-paced world, calligraphy is hand done, perfectly imperfect and every letter and word is unique.
She was taught traditional calligraphy but now mostly uses modern calligraphy fonts and methods. This new take on old styles is elegant, classic and magical. These fonts are full of flourishes, bounces and swirls. She hopes these popular fonts will kindle the same passion for the timeless art of calligraphy in you.
