
Grow School: Summer Cut Flowers
Learn how to grow an abundance of summer flowers for creating your own beautiful arrangements and bouquets. And yes we will be including dahlias!
Practical instruction will take place at Nourish Gardens Flower Farm. At the end of the workshop you will have a ‘take home’ pack of a range of seeds, seedlings and plants to help establish your own productive home cut flower garden.
*Please note this is not a workshop for flower farmers (current or aspiring!). For flower farming tuition please see our ‘Introduction to Flower Farming’ course.
TOPICS
-Planning a summer cutting garden
-Specific growing information for a variety of annual & perennial cut flowers
-Cut flower propagation – growing from seeds, cuttings and other methods
-Harvesting and post-harvest tips to keep flowers fresher for longer
INCLUDES
Tutoring, resource materials, your own plants & seeds to take home, and a delicious morning tea.
TO BRING
-Clothes & closed shoes suitable for the weather conditions, and that you don’t mind getting a bit of soil on. If it’s wet we may well be heading outside regardless!
-Gardening gloves (if you have your own – we will lend otherwise).
